RECLAIMED WOOD
Reclaimed Means Rescued
Each piece of reclaimed lumber has a history, a quiet gravitas, a tactile bridge between the past and the present, as every board or beam bears the marks of its past life. Each nail hole, adze mark, gouge, or stain was put there, intentionally or unintentionally, by someone. These marks create a dialog between eras, telling a story of hopes and dreams long past.
We rescue wood from the ash heap of history and give it new life. We let it continue living, allowing it to create an emotional anchor in our fast-paced world. We invite you to engage with this wood. Lean in and let it whisper its tale to you.
Our Process
At River Valley Woodworks, we specialize in reclaiming wood from old barns, buildings, and livestock corrals—drawn by the unmatched beauty and character of the materials they hold.
When we locate a structure with high-quality wood, our skilled dismantling team carefully takes it apart, board by board. Each piece of lumber is then meticulously sorted and stored in our warehouse, ready to be given new life.
While we’d love to reclaim every structure we find, we carefully evaluate each one based on size, wood quality, and location before moving forward.
Sustainablity
We all learned about sustainability in school. Remember? It went something like Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reclaimed wood checks all three boxes. By reclaiming lumber, we reduce the need for new lumber, reuse old materials, and recycle them into beautiful wood products that you can use on your next project.
